Welcome to KleverCV (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our resume generation service.

By using KleverCV, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect several types of information from and about users of our service:

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (encrypted). If you sign up using Google OAuth, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google.
  • Resume Data: We collect and process the resume files you upload (in PDF format) and any information you provide through our generation wizard, including job descriptions and template preferences.
  • Payment Information: When you purchase credits, payment information is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information; we only receive transaction confirmations.
  • Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with our service, including IP addresses, browser types, pages viewed, and timestamps.
  • Generated Content: We store the tailored resumes you generate, including the modifications made by our AI system and the changes tracked through our Truth Protocol feature.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain our resume generation service
  • To process your uploaded resumes and generate tailored versions
  • To manage your account and provide customer support
  • To process payments and manage your credit balance
  • To send you service-related emails (account confirmations, password resets, purchase receipts)
  • To improve our service through analysis of usage patterns
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and fraudulent activity
  • To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights

4. AI Processing and Third-Party Services

Our service uses artificial intelligence to process and tailor your resume content. This processing involves:

  • OpenRouter API: We use OpenRouter to access large language models for resume analysis and content generation. Your resume content is sent to these models for processing. OpenRouter has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
  • Modal: We use Modal for serverless computing infrastructure to run our resume processing pipeline. Resume data is processed through Modal's infrastructure.
  • Cloudflare R2: We store generated resume PDFs in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Files are stored with unique identifiers tied to your user account.

We carefully select third-party services that maintain strong security and privacy practices.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services:

  • Account information is retained until you delete your account
  • Uploaded resumes and generated content are retained until you delete them or close your account
  • Payment transaction records are retained for accounting and legal compliance purposes
  • Usage logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and service improvement purposes

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information:

  • All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
  • Passwords are hashed using industry-standard encryption (bcrypt)
  • Database access is restricted using row-level security policies
  • File storage uses authenticated and authorized access only
  • Regular security audits and updates to our infrastructure

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: You can request a copy of your personal information
  • Correction: You can update or correct your information through your account settings
  • Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Data Portability: You can download your resume data at any time
  • Opt-out: You can opt-out of marketing communications (we currently don't send marketing emails)

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf (as described in Section 4)

  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to you)
  • Protection of Rights: To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 16, we will delete that information promptly.
